Update #3: Pregnant

Dear Sister,

I rejoice in your news that your daughter is pregnant! I know personally how heartbreaking miscarriage is. I praise God that He gave your daughter a new life to carry. It is indeed encouraging that she is already 16 weeks along. Psalm 127:3 says, “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.” We can thank God for this baby as a blessing to your family. I am praying with you that this baby will be healthy and strong and be delivered full-term into you family. Let me do that right now.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you, Lord, that you have brought a new life in this world. Lord, as the Psalmist says in 139, You have covered this baby in his mother's womb. I will praise thee; for he is fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that our souls knoweth right well. His substance is not hid from thee, while he is being made in secret, and curiously being wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes do see his substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all his members are written, which in continuance are being fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts of him, O God! how great is the sum of them! If we should count them, they are more in number than the sand.” Lord, we do praise You because we do know that all life You create and all life is precious, even the babies that are now in heaven with You that we never got to hold. Please protect this new baby that You are forming. Please provide for all his (or her) needs and help him to grow healthy and strong. Please strengthen his mother and give her good health during this pregnancy and delivery. We are so grateful that you hear and answer our prayers.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
